CIAO A TUTTI

Our new friends from the Sentieri tour spent a wonderful week at Villa Favolosa. For many of them, this was their first time in Piemonte and the weather was perfect for touring the Langhe wine country, Mondovi' and Cuneo. Their day trips included Turin, Nice and Monte Carlo. Now that they've had a taste of Piemonte we are sure they will come back soon.

DÉJÀ VU

This painting by Italian artist, Enrico Paulucci, was part of an exhibit called "The Langhe and its Painters" sponsored by the Ferrero Foundation.

My immediate reaction to this piece was that I've seen it somewhere before. After pondering for a few minutes I remembered... it is Serralunga d'Alba!

As it turned out, I hadn't seen the painting before but I had seen the location.
Here is a photo I took from Serralunga d'Alba. You decide... is it déjà vu?

FIELD TRIP - EATALY

We hopped on the train to Turin and visited the new EATALY store near the Lingotto station. This is a veritable temple of haute food. Not just your average gourmet food shop, within the Eataly complex is the Carpano Museum of Vermouth, a "branch" of the famous restaurant Guido and a variety of cafes and bars that offer the best products from each of the store's departments (Wine, Cheese, Meats, Pasta etc..) They offer a great program of events and workshops such as cooking with the top chefs. You could easily spend an entire day here. Attention all Foodies... you must plan a pilgrimage to EATALY in Turin!
